Turn Amsterdam Light Festival into a light-filled adventure for the whole family! Every day at 5:00 PM, our special children's cruise departs, featuring stories from the live guide that children can easily understand.

The live guide speaks in Dutch and English about the festival, the artists and their artworks. With clear, accessible explanations that connect with children's world, the stories behind the light artworks come to life. This way, you will discover much more together than just the lights.

There is also something tasty: the children are treated to lemonade and can pick a treat from the lucky dip box. That makes your outing on the water even more fun!

For the fifteenth edition, the city once again transforms into a setting for light art. Local, national and international artists each bring their own perspective on Amsterdam. Not a fixed story, but a conversation with the city that emerges from countless perspectives.

Admire 20 unique light artworks along the brand-new route through the central-east district, near well-known locations such as the Magere Brug and the Amstel locks. Rediscover Amsterdam from the water and with an open mind.

German-speaking guests can use the official Amsterdam Light Festival audio tour to discover more about the light artworks and the stories behind them. The festival runs from Thursday 26 November 2026 through Sunday 17 January 2027.

Accessibility

The boarding point for Blue Boat's canal cruise during Amsterdam Light Festival is located at Stadhouderskade 550 opposite the Heineken Experience.
