In 2024-2025, the popular story from the DreamWorks animated film will be shown in the theater. Starring René van Kooten, William Spaaij and Sem van der Hijden alternately as Shrek and Linda Verstraten as Fiona, this promises to be a magically beautiful musical for both young and young-at-heart fans.

In a swamp far away from civilization lives Shrek, an ogre who values his peace. His peaceful life is disrupted when Lord Farquaad banishes all the fairytale characters from his kingdom and sends them straight to Shrek's swamp. Determined to get his swamp back for himself, Shrek goes to get his story straight. Against his will, he is accompanied by Donkey, who turns out to be able to do everything except keep his mouth shut. While Shrek and Donkey are on their way, Lord Farquaad has set his sights on Princess Fiona. She is imprisoned in a tower guarded by a fire-breathing dragon. The two make a deal: Lord Farquaad will give Shrek back the swamp, if Shrek will save Princess Fiona for him. Shrek, not exactly the hero type, agrees and sets off on an adventure full of humor and unexpected twists, together with the talkative Donkey…
