World Heritage Center Wadden Sea

At the WEC (World Heritage Center Wadden Sea), you’ll discover everything about the unique UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Wadden Sea. This interactive experience center combines nature, education, and research in a unique way. Visitors get a behind-the-scenes look at the modern seal hospital and learn more about life in and around the Wadden area.

During your visit, you walk past interactive exhibitions, impressive stories, and educational presentations about the nature, animals, and ecosystem of the Wadden Sea. There are also daily seal talks where caretakers share more about the care and rehabilitation of seals. From the roof of the building, you'll enjoy a panoramic view over the Wadden Sea and the Lauwersmeer area.
