Take a stroll through the dozens of themed gardens at Kasteeltuinen Arcen. Discover the diversity of gardens, each with its own unique atmosphere! As you walk through the park, you will be immersed in fragrances, colours and soothing water features. Wander through the lush, baroque Rosarium, enchanting visitors with its 10 rose rooms, where thousands of roses fragrance the air amid the centuries-old berceau.

Experience the ultimate holiday feeling in the Mediterranean Garden, with its large lavender field, towering palm trees, ancient olive trees and the adjoining Plaza Verde boulevard. At Plaza Verde, enjoy the beautiful koi through a viewing window into the pond, or relax on the terraces among the swamp cypresses with their impressive aerial roots. More of a rhododendron lover? Then explore the magnificent collection in the Rhododendron Garden, in the shade of Arcen Castle. 

The surprising route also takes you to various garden experiences from around the world. The Acer Garden steals the show in autumn, you can wander through the Bamboo Forest and imagine yourself in Southeast Asia in the Eastern Water Garden, complete with an authentic Thai fisherman's house. A visit to the Italian Garden will inspire you with its Tuscan atmosphere.

Admire centuries-old Arcen Castle
Experience the historical story of the Dukes of Guelders at the 17th-century Arcen Castle. The castle shines on the historic country estate, where more buildings reflect its rich history: the gatehouse with its armoury full of centuries-old weapons and the Coach House with its restored 1860 carriage. The castle's piano nobile is decorated historically to reflect how its former residents lived. And be sure to listen to one of the daily concerts performed by the self-playing grand piano: the pianola!

Accessibility

Kasteeltuinen Arcen is accessible to everyone, including visitors with reduced mobility or those exploring the park from a wheelchair. Various measures have been taken throughout the park to ensure visitors can discover the gardens as comfortably as possible. For example, the Castle Courtyard, which is paved with cobblestones, also has a wheelchair-friendly paved lane. All food and beverage venues have spacious accessible toilets. A main route runs through the park and can be followed entirely by wheelchair. There are a few paths in the park that are inaccessible due to differences in level; these are marked with warning signs. The paths in the park have different types of paving. In the Rosarium and the Valley, these are gravel paths, where the gravel layer is deliberately kept as minimal as possible. 

Getting there 

Kasteeltuinen Arcen is located in Arcen, in North Limburg, between Venlo and Nijmegen. The picturesque village is close to the German border and just a 10-minute drive from Venlo. If you are travelling by car, you can park your car for €8 . Consult Google Maps for the exact route from your departure point and current departure and travel times.
